Craigslist and the MN ZOO

So, lately some might say I "may" have a craigslist addiction. Some being my Husband Kyle. It is far from an addiction but simply being the thrifty Mom that I am, and the want to furnish the back yard with things other than the dirt paths supplied by the dogs. We have gotten her a slide, a sandbox, and a picnic table for less than $60!! I am still looking for a Radio Flyer Wagon but think I will wait a few weeks before I take that on.
She loves playing in the backyard now and sits in her sandbox babbling away. And she probably has the coolest sandbox sand I've ever seen. It's bright purple and it's called fun sand (funsand.net). I got it at Menards. It's definitely more expensive but worth it. The sand is moldable, non-staining, ideal for childhood development, dustless, and non-toxic. The only problem is she loves bringing the sand around the yard and dumping it out so once this stuff is gone....we probably will be refilling with plain old sand. But for now, it's something fun and different.

Moving on. Since Dad is working 7 days a week it's just Piperella and I on Saturday and Sunday. Few Saturdays ago we decided to take the long trek out to Apple Valley and go see the MN ZOO. Not to be a Debbie Downer but that place was awful! Way too crowded and too big. You end up walking on these long trails around the zoo that have the worlds oldest animals 50 yards away. You can barely see them! Anyway after a couple of hours we decided it was time to get some food and fast. The only problem with that was all the lines for food were 30 people deep. Wasn't happening for us. We moved on to the gift shop to pick up a souvenior (snake) and went home for lunch. Piper has been obsessed with her snake from the Zoo. She carries it every where. She even holds it when she brushes her teeth (which she loves to do)!! I know I'm partial but I think we struck gold with this little girl. She is the very best!!!
